ADHD
Diagnosis and Treatment for Adults
ADHD is a neurobiological developmental condition. The brain networks that control attention, impulse regulation, and executive function work differently than in people without ADHD.
This has nothing to do with lack of discipline or willpower. It's a matter of brain physiology – and it can be treated.
Common Symptoms
Diagnosis
Initial Consultation
Medical history, symptoms, background. Determines whether comprehensive testing is appropriate.
Testing
Structured questionnaires and interviews. Duration: 2–3 hours. Instruments include HASE and CAARS for English-speaking patients.
Results Discussion
Diagnosis and treatment recommendation.
When possible, we include collateral information (from parents, partners) and school records in the assessment.
Existing Diagnosis
If an ADHD diagnosis already exists, we check whether it was made according to guidelines and if current documentation is available.
